Solar Thermal for Farming use

Any process requiring hot water production, be it commercial or agricultural, can benefit significantly from the installation of a solar thermal system. If this is combined with waste heat recovery it can have a significant effect on reducing the energy requirement of the end user and in many cases has resulted in increasing the available hot water at no extra cost resulting in a more hygienic working environment. We have organised grants for farmers to install solar thermal systems with waste heat recovery and with our partners have completed many installations. Get in touch for further details.

Hadrian Farm Services Dairy Farms

Revolution Power and Hadrian Farm Services got together to design a way of heating water as Dairy Farmers need boiling hot water twice a day to clean out the dairies.

The system is very clever. It uses waste hot gases from the milk chillers to provide heat for a water cylinder. The solar thermal system provides heating for the water.

The solar systems are designed bespoke for the clients requirements after a full site visit by Hadrain Farm Services.

In the North East Grants of 50% are available for these systems and 40% in Yorkshire.

The potential cost savings are huge as the normal way that dairies heat their water up is usually with electric immersion heaters which are a large drain on the farms electricity supply. Average payback on these systems is 2 years.
